How we handle facts, legend and atmosphere

EchoTrail is GPS-triggered storytelling. Trust requires clear boundaries between what is sourced, what is tradition, and what is mood.

Fact

Place context draws on public references such as encyclopedias, destination authorities and heritage listings. Destination pages list sources for that place. On the trail, factual claims are kept distinct from legend.

Legend

Folklore and local stories are framed as tradition — not as verified history. Markers and tone keep them apart from factual narration.

Atmosphere

Poetic or sensory lines set mood. They are not presented as evidence. Silence mode uses short on-screen glints without voice.

What AI generates

AI composes narration for the place and moment using GPS, pace, season and nearby points of interest. It does not replace emergency navigation or map apps. Stories vary between walks; core place facts stay grounded in sources.
