Besseggen is the most-hiked mountain trail in Norway — but not because it's easy. It's 14 kilometers long and crosses a narrow ridge between two lakes of different color and elevation.
Henrik Ibsen walked Besseggen in 1862 and used the landscape as inspiration for Peer Gynt's wild ride across the ridge. The ground you're crossing is the very same.
